Currently playing: "Laughing" by Winterpills.

Check them out! Although they aren't redefining anything musically, Winterpills has that good small studio folk/indie vibe. I like the lead male vocal lightened by the female harmony singer. It's simple music, but has some moments of nice musicianship. Not mind-blowing, but a good 11:57pm on Thursday record. You can launch a music player and hear 4 songs on their site.

I've moved from Spider Solitaire to Free Cell. I'm not sure what it is about me these days--I could lose myself in these card games for hours.

In sadder news, my hotornot rating has dropped to 8.1! Kristi--I'm sure you're KILLING me by now...

I typically abhor commercials. I have laughed every time I've seen the new Snickers "Fire" commercial. When that man comes running out of the room.... And the sounds--pay attention to the sounds next time it's on TV. It's so strange!

I've seen the most stunning and captivating music video. Glosoli by Sigur Ros is not just an enchanting and gorgeous song, but is hands down my favorite video in years, if not ever. I can barely believe how amazing it is. Take 6 minutes and watch this. (the link I've given is for a Quicktime video. For other formats and a handful of past videos, click here.)

In addition to the litany of people and activities I'm now saying "Yes!" to, you can now add an important culinary representative: casserole. It's true–I baked a casserole, a covered dish baked in earthenware. @m's wife gave me a fantastic mexican food recipe and I said "Yes!"

Let the applause and adulations begin. ("obsequious flattery; excessive admiration or praise.")

I will make one more confession: I really like Desperate Housewives. The show, I mean. It is clever and it pulls me in–I can't stop watching. And no, it's not just Teri Hatcher...
